World Creator 2025.1 - BETA

Released on the 11th of April 2025

The BETA can be downloaded from the customer portal. It is a preview version of World Creator 2025.1 which will be available in summer 2025. The BETA should NOT be used for production and will give you an idea of what new features and improvements will be available in the next upcoming version of World Creator.

Some of the features and enhancements listed below may not be complete, but will be by the time of the official release!

New Features

  • A brand new and unique biome painter and system that gives you all the freedom you have been waiting for when working with biomes. The workflow has been simplified: Create a biome, press edit and start painting. World Creator takes care of everything, including biome blending and ordering - fully automated and in real time.

  • You can now import custom 3D models and place them on the terrain, either manually or procedurally. Optionally, the terrain will adjust its height, allowing you to flatten areas of terrain below the placed 3D model.

  • We have added an integrated asset library for 2D and 3D assets that will be delivered royalty-free to anyone with a Professional or Enterprise licence of World Creator. The Asset Library will be accessible from within World Creator and will also support custom user-defined folders.

  • Many new image processing filters.

  • Supporting LUTs for further image processing.

  • Emissive Materials.

  • A powerful denoiser that removes noise during the real-time rendering process.

  • Support for multiple light types (point, area, spot, etc).

  • A new Scene category for cameras, models, lights and more.

  • Texture Height Blending.

  • Texture Displacement.

  • Environment Mapping.

  • New path layer: A more flexible path shape layer that gives you more options when designing vector-based paths.

Improvements

  • Enhanced ray tracer for real-time photorealistic rendering.

  • A much more flexible water system for visualizing photorealistic rivers, lakes, and oceans.

  • Cloud layers for creating many different photorealistic cloud types.

  • A new atmosphere scattering system that creates fog, haze and different atmospheric colors.

  • Cleaned up and reorganised all the World Creator settings.

  • Significant performance improvements resulting in an overall 15% faster generation and rendering.

Fixes

  • Fixed AMD related issues.

  • Fixed an issue creating spikes when debris is used.

  • Fixed an issue causing an undo bug when using the rivers layer.

  • Fixed UI ordering issues.

  • Fixed an issue where flows caused bugs when using debris.

  • Fixed some minor issues.
