# Effects

## Overview

Effects in World Creator can be added to any distribution, allowing you to further modify your distribution results.

There are many different results you can get from effects, ranging from [Angle Blur](/reference/terrain/effects/blur.md), [Clamp](/reference/terrain/effects/clamp.md)[ ](/reference/terrain/distributions/terrain/curvature.md)or [Denoise](/reference/terrain/effects/denoise.md) mask all the way to more complex such as [Simple Flow](/reference/terrain/effects/simple-flow.md).

## **Using Effects**

To add an effect simply press the small plus icon next to the Effects label.

Similar to World Creators [filter system](/reference/terrain/biome/filters.md), the effects work on a layer stack, meaning they work bottom-up.

## **Shared Parameters**

All effects provide the following options:

* **Opacity**\
  The strength of the effect.

* **Weight**\
  Allows you to reduce its influence on other effects.
